BBA//Fjeldco has advised Alvogen Iceland ehf., a subsidiary of Aztiq, on the sale of all of its share capital in the Icelandic pharmaceutical wholesaler Alvogen ehf. (unrelated to the US-based Alvogen Pharma) to Orbital ehf.. Founded in 2014 through the acquisition of pharmaceutical company Portfarma, Alvogen has grown considerably to become a major supplier to Iceland's pharmacies and healthcare institutions. The business now imports around 100 pharmaceuticals and markets more than 200 health-related products and medical devices, spanning the import, marketing and distribution of generic medicines, over-the-counter drugs and prescription medications, alongside other health products supplied to Iceland's leading healthcare institutions and pharmacies. Orbital ehf. is backed by venture capital fund Horn V and Silfurberg ehf. The transaction remains subject to approval from the Icelandic Competition Authority.
